Chapter 7
I messed around with my purse for a minute, so I could assess myself and then waved a hand at my face as heat rushed through my body. âPhew.â I wasnât sure if it was excitement, nerves, or the so-called herbs that made my body tingle, but I had a good guess. I wiggled as if I had a chill.
She seemed happy with my comment. âThe herbs are absorbed straight into your bloodstream through your saliva, and within minutes, you feel the full effects. Usually, the first time you take it, you might feel a little,â she paused and winked at me, âout of control.â
I let my head fall back on my neck like other people did on the dance floor. âI need to get back to Harvard, he needs to feel this.â
âHarvard?â she asked. âI thought his name was Kevin.â
I giggled as tingles began to race down my body. âHe went to Harvard. Itâs a nickname because heâs so smart.â
She seemed okay with that one, and I reminded myself that I needed to watch it, if I could.
She turned for the door. âCome on. Iâm actually going to take you and Kevin back to the party rooms and you two can check them out while youâre enjoying the effects of the strips.â
âOkay.â I followed her. The drug was digging deep into my system now. Lights, sounds, and colors were more vivid as I followed her. I felt like I was floating on a cloud and wanted to let down my hair so it was wild and free, like I was. The woman opened a door, and I stepped into the darkened room. It was pulsing with lights and sounds, and as I stepped in, I raised my hand and became transfixed by the neon-green X that was glowing on my hand. Without much thought, I found myself moving to the music even as I knew I should be paying attention to what was around me.
In what seemed like only a few seconds, Harvard pulled me to him and spoke, but I wasnât sure what he said. He shook me for a moment, and then the woman was speaking to him.
Suddenly, I remembered that I needed to give him something. I lurched forward against him. âI have something for you,â I cooed into his ear.
âWhat the hell did you do?â he asked gruffly against my neck, and I threw my head back on a moan. His voice had sent a vibration straight to my core, and I loved the way it felt.
I put my hand up and popped over the container. âThis is for you, baby. Take it.â
âKal,â he growled, âdid you take this already?â
âYeah, baby, I did,â I wiggled my body against him, âand damn, it feels so good. Itâs making me want you so bad.â
A sound left his throat, and the woman was talking to him again. Lights were pulsing over my head, and my body felt like it was on fire. My hands began to move over his chest, and I leaned in and nibbled on his earlobe.
